ABOUT THE MOVIE

Randy and Jarett first met during the Spring of 2022 when Jarett was directing a TV commercial that Randy was cast in. They immediately bonded over their mutual love of guitar. A few months later, while hanging out and jamming, Randy pitched this crazy idea for a documentary that Jarett politely listened to but dismissed.

Almost a year later, Randy was watching a Netflix documentary by the creator of Law and Order called Homicide New York. During one of the interviews with a retired NYPD Homicide detective, Randy noticed the guitar in the corner.

He immediately called Jarett and passionately pitched the idea again, telling Jarett that if he didn’t do this, Randy would find someone else (That was a bluff…it would have died right there). However, Jarett changed his mind. Why?... Jarett said, "It is ridiculous but real... it might work."​

It only took 9 weeks to reach, schedule and film 20 people including incredibly prominent people with very busy schedules. Every time they thought they were done and ready for post-production, a new amazing interview presented itself. In total 24 distinguished people joined String Theory.

 

And here we are. This documentary was born out of the love of the guitar by two ordinary guys, whose passion for the instrument inspired others to talk about their passion and what it means to play guitar!!!!!
